Here, a triumphal Timothy Noah celebrates the Libby pardon, and compares it to Bill Clinton's "perjury" when he said that oral sex was not "sex." (If another man were in that position -- being asked about specific sexual acts that were not intercourse -- why would he go out of his way to be so specific? Bill Clinton would not have been convicted of perjury in a court of law! No chance.)
Hmm. The federal legal system does not agree.
What Bush did was just and fair. It was the right thing to do.
Obstruction of Justice is no petty crime. It's what the mafia does when they threaten to kill witnesses.
But Judge Reggie Walton went overboard in sentencing Libby to 30 months.
Forgive me, but Bush gave the Pope something with the Ten Commandments on it a while back. Here are two of the Commandments:
Well, Bush is culpable for the first, and has strongly condoned the latter.
SIX: 'You shall not murder.'
NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
This makes me shake my head. Good God let it be over. Worst President Ever.
