I went to the Tucson Club Crawl last night. It was a good time, tho' I would have liked my wife to have come with me. There were five stages outside in downtown Tucson; all the roads got blocked off, and beer stands stood in the street, with a blues stage, Mexican music stage (correct term?), rock stage, and a pop stage. There were shows indoors, too, but I think most cost extra. Anyway it was better outdoors.
Most of the bands were local. I saw a really bad hard rock band. I saw a blues act that had some fire. I left before midnight. I really should have talked to those two girls that said I "looked like somebody they knew" a bit more. I love Arizona. This ain't Iowa no more. Perhaps I should start a band. Or at least play my two guitars. Ah, academic labor.
I have set two goals for this week: finish my German translation final project, which is translating ten pages of Freud's Civlization and Its Discontents, and making some inroads regarding summer work. Perhaps getting a file at a temp agency would be apropos.
