"Security equals freedom"

I'm interested in how the above concept or meme will play out in the upcoming election. Inevitably, the Republicans will try to portray the Democrats as "running with Osama bin Laden."

However, the concept of "security equals freedom" seems to be the primary reason for most of the Current Occupant's actions -- i.e. illegal searching of Americans' records, torture, "extraordinary rendition," the justification for occupying oil and natural gas-rich countries. Republicans haven't had decent ideas for a long time.

The idea seems to have come out of the corporate security provider sector. Glenn Greenwald, who's I think is the smartest blogger out there, noted the concept.

But anyway, good news: things are going great! in Iraq. Smiley (According to Congressman Mike Pence, one of the "weapons of mass destruction have been  found in Iraq" heroes.) I always like the roads to be cleared, 100 Marines and multiple Apache helicopters to accompany me when I visit the market.
