I went and heard Frederic Tuten read a story that he had published in Granta. He was a good reader, and by good, I mean that it was definitely interesting to hear him read his short story over the course of 35 minutes. An affable man, and his fiction story had supernatural elements that were at once evocative and humorous. The subject was death, but lighthearted was the story.
I'm glad I went, but damn, would it be so hard to provide some coffee while serving carrot cake and brownies? Lemonade don't go w/ dat. --ams
