The internet is this weird space where supposedly a person with a certain degree of authority (i.e. "a pilot's wife" -- how nice!) can write in the first person and likely make "convincing" arguments about a news event. It was in this vein that I wrote on April Fool's day about how I had supposedly become a grandfather at the age of 35. To me the story is about how out of fear, we created a policy and enforcement apparatus that is completely out of proportion to the "threat" with which we live. It's N times more dangerous to drive on my commute than to get on a plane -- even if there was no TSA at all. The story is that we've ceded power to our government and this is the ugly underbelly of that decision. Arbitrary violence, not unlike what BLM movement points out.
