Our media is so out of touch that it's very frustrating. One annoyance for me are the photos angled and framed to make Petraeus into the second coming of the Marlboro Man. Ooohhh, aaahhh, he's so flinty-eyed!

Another good sign for the Bush Administration: after the Pakistani Supreme Court ruled that a political rival of military dictator Pervez Musharraf could return after exile, he was greeted by paramilitary troops and sent to Saudi Arabia.

Nice choice of allies.
