America's is an empire of hate -- an Empire of Hate -- suffused with the cynicism of an elite political class serving the blind economic interest of a dull, fat populace. The will for cheap oil, cheap goods, and cheap credit projects violence across the world, with its citizenry complaining only more, and their representatives jumping one over the other to claim to have provided cheap goods and a decadent life for its self-righteous, "hard-working" people. The victims of this imperium lie dead in Baghdad -- corpse-children with flies in their eyes, religious extremists goaded to terrorism to remove the oilfield-guarding invader, and a suffering that reflects back on America despite a collective and herculean Will to Denial.
America never was America to me. --Langston Hughes
