On Our President Bush
It occurred to me: the man has a peurile mind. His problem is not communication, but the fact that his disjointed, illogical language communicates so directly the train of the man's thought. When some speak, they refer to a body of other, assumed ideas that an intelligent listener can join in on. With W. Bush, his utterances lay bare his simplistic ideas at their brutalizing core, while fools and poseurs assume an Archimedean point of reference simply because this simple fool is the most powerful man on the face of the earth.
