Jess, Jeremy and I just spent the day at Old Tucson, where many Westerns were filmed back in the day, starting with 1939's Arizona. It was a good time, but the theme park does, as Jeremy noted, try to "make everybody happy" at the expense of having a specific theme that one can catch onto. There's performers, stunts, a museum, a turn-of-the-century school hut, overpriced eats, a haunted house, and plenty of sun and heat. It was time well spent, tho', because I enjoyed the theater aspect, bad tho' the performers were.
Then we hiked up to look atop Gates Pass. I could get into hiking around here -- there's mountains in the desert.
