Oh my God!!! My friends, that's not a VP pick we can believe in, Mr. McCain

I may have never seen a worse performance by a candidate in an interview in my whole life. The DFL contender Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer who lost out to Al Franken makes Palin look like an absolute joke after watching this. (Jack's campaign had a chance only because of his performance on public radio debates.) Watch the clip, and tell me she's even qualified to be mentioned on the national political scene. Cognitive dissonance, anyone?

What exactly has the McCain campaign been doing to train her since her nomination? She's ducked all but three interviews (I think -- she was interviewed by Charles Gibson of ABC, "journalist" Sean Hannity of Fox News, and now CBS's Katie Couric). They obviously realize they've got a problem with her at any time she does not have a teleprompter, so they've been coaching her, but she simply lacks the basic critical thinking skills to perform a non-embarrassing interview. To me, that's unbelievable. If Palin becomes our VP, let alone president, we're contending with Caligula and Nero for Worst-Worst-Worst Leader of All Time.

Does she believe in the End Times, the Rapture? Will she submit to hightened regulation of Wall Street? Is it a conflict-of-interest for Rick Davis to have a major sharehold in a pro-Georgia lobbying firm? She can't answer a question.

Propers to Katie Couric -- she looked more authoritative than Palin and performed real journalism.

The clip comes from Glenn Greenwald.
