Tucson, it seems, is a good place to move to, but not a good place to grow up at. Really. The front page of today's AZ Daily Star documents how there's no flouride in the water, as if Tucson is a holdover from 1956. The John Birch Society famously proclaimed flouridation "a communist plot," but apparently the cause of the non-flouride water is mere laziness--the city didn't want to front the $1 millionn flouridation equipment. What a cost! when 95 City of Tucson employees make over $100,000 per annum.
Weird water politics down here in the Southwest. --ams
