The commentary is flying regarding the NBA free agency season! And much of it is bad:
I still don't think Wade and LeBron wind up together, and I certainly hope they don't. How boring and unambitious of them it would be. Magic and Bird, who spent their entire careers trying to kill each other, should boycott the NBA forever if this happens. If I'm Kobe, or the Celtics, give me a D-Wade/LeBron matchup! Neither guy can shoot jumpers!
Anyway, here's what I think -- LeBron should play in New York with Mike D'Antoni! His system gave Steve Nash two MVPs, and could put LeBron in championship contention year in year out, and also put him in the open court Magic Johnson-style. Imagine a style of play where instead of Nash dishing out 17 assists, it's LeBron dishing to three-point shooters and getting into the lane and playing uptempo.
The reason the Cavs have played so poorly in the last few years is because their offense gets "half-courted." The 2010 Suns showed that a team can contend for a championship in that uptempo style of play.
