Last couple days
I've had a couple nice days, but now I'm tired, and I've still got papers to grade. Yesterday I taught and studied, and unexpectedly got out of a couple engagments. Today I did a presentation on Freud, for which I sort of felt like I wasn't talking smoothly, but that's probably a sign that I was dealing with Beyond the Pleasure Principle at the level of reading instead of summary, as one should. Then I played basketball. I hit a long jumper, from behind the three point line, and simultaneously stepped on my defender's foot and got a hip bruise. It's sore. Then I did some training at GNC, which I will do tomorrow as well. My Monday nights to Thursday days are really draining, leaving me little morale to write papers and read. It's a hard knock life for us. I've got to read all of Ian McEwan's Atonement before Monday and prepare some discussion questions on it. I've got to write one longer paper (10-15 pages), one short one (3 single spaced pages), and eventually a 20-25 page paper, which I'd like to do on the 1950s film Attack of the Body Snatchers. I may need my friend Jeremy's assistance with that project; when he (he'll be reading this) visits Jess and me in Tucson, he should have a plan for a publishable film paper, so we can slog together on that project.
