I'm going to write something here so that I do not forget it elsewhere. Spring break allows a respite for the student's soul. Moreover it takes one out of his or her element (that is, if one leaves home and daily convention), which allows one to reacquaint oneself with Possibility. So, I am recharged, yet cognizant that I have a paper due this week in one of my classes, and aware that the grind of teaching and courses will return normal as ever.
I have set the goal to read my assigned readings as if I'm reading them for pleasure. Another goal is to lift weights like a powerlifter, and put on strength and mass, and weigh as much as 240. And to prepare for the writing act as if I like it -- and I do.
The goal, really, is what the French call esprit. And G-d bless you all. --adam
