Well, G-d smiled on me from above, O Blessed Atheism. I got a check for the bicycle damages in the mail, for the correct amount. That's a comforting feeling. The note I left in the young lady's mailbox said, "Are you going to pay me or not, Leigh Ann?" I hope she didn't take it as a threat, but as an expression of frustration (it took over a month for her to pay).
And we have a cat living with us for a time, owned by a friend of Jess's. He talks and talks -- a conversational feline. I enjoy cats.
I finished Lolita by Nabokov. Alas, its 1950s radicalism doesn't strike me as that radical now. The novel is an interesting fictional exercise in, Is the author the character? Insert the old Platonic debate. The novel just doesn't have enough depravity.
And I cut my dog Ellie's hair today, perfecting my method by icing (literally) the shaver, which gets very hot with friction.
Now I'm off to rest for a bit, then I'll go bench 250 lbs., and then we'll be off to somebody's party, O Blessed. BTW I missed Buddhist temple this morn, due to an awesomely fun late-night jaunt to Olive R Twist on Speedway with other softball fans. Our server struck me as belonging in a Manet painting. O how I long for Europe! *I saw this painting in person, friends.
