I believe that Bush got his ass handed to him. When you reference the Dred Scott decision to show how you will responsibly pick the next Supreme Court justices, that is about the point at which you lose. Kerry blew the guy out of the water when he said that the military wins the battle but leadership wins the peace.
Bush is a deer caught in headlights that did't do his homework. That's a deer going on nothing.
In other news, the debate made my Friday evening a little more exciting and more pleasant. There's a lot going on in Tucson this weekend. I'm considering going to a Buddhist service, but Jess is proposing that we partake in the door-to-door thing for the Pima County Democrats. I sort of feel like Kerry's already done the work. But I guess that's not true. Essentially, this is the modern conundrum for the politically conscious citizen/critic. Understand what's going on politically but do nothing with that knowledge. Anyway, the guilt, if it irrupts, won't be that big. Anyway, I think this Desert Zen Center will be a good place. The leader dude was a Catholic priest and then he mixed in the Buddhist tradition with that, and now it looks like he does retreats. Can't dislike a pantheist. That's the sort of fence-sitting that I dig.
More substantially: it's time to play a little guitar. And praise Jesus.
