"Many times in my life I have read a poem, at first not knowing the meaning, however through close reading with an open mind I have learned things and experienced things that every day life wouldn't have granted me the opportunity to learn. We should study poetry in order to understand the words of the past, the knowledge of those who have gained knowledge, and we should study poetry to inspire those of us who are in need of inspiration."
If you were to break a song down and put it on paper, it would be like reading a poem and vice versa with singing a poem.
"A poem better read out loud is Wilfred Owen’s poem “Dulce et Decorum Est.” Unlike Frost’s poem, I feel the focus here is more on the audible delivery rather than the imagery. I feel a good reading of this poem helps captures the mood and emotions contained in this poem."
