Coakley versus Brown

Now, I'm completely ignorant on the issues. All that I have seen about the race in Massachusetts to fill Ted Kennedy's open Senate seat is horse-race reporting. I heard that Brown once questioned whether Barack Obama was born out of wedlock, and had ties to Tea Party flakes. I also saw that the race was tied at 48-48.



But I know this: whoever this Brown guy is, he's going to win. He is the more appealing figure, and has a smile on his face in every photo. Coakley, whoever she is, looks dour and thinks she deserves the seat as if by nepotism. I say this as a liberal who desperately wants strong, progressive health care reform -- which Coakley would deliver and Brown might block or weaken. But from the perspective of an uninformed voter, which is most people, I'd vote for Brown because he is the more appealing candidate.
